THE PUNJAB TRANSPARENCY AND RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT 2013

An Act to provide for transparency and freedom of information in the Punjab.

Preamble.— Whereas it is expedient to provide for transparency and freedom of information citizens have improved access to public information; to make the Government more accountable enforce the fundamental right of access to information in all matters of public importance; and ancillary matters;

It is enacted as follows:-

Short title, extent and commencement.

This Act may be cited as the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013.
It extends to the whole of the Punjab.
It shall come into force at once.
